Hope Wines

Hope WineLaunched in 2007, Hope Wine is fairly new in the world of wine, but this start-up in Southern California donates 50% of its proceeds to various charities year-round.

Hope Wine has partnered with a sustainable winery, Sonoma Wine Company, to produce excellent wines that support worthy charitable organizations.

Each varietal benefits a specific cause. We sampled the Chardonnay (fight against breast cancer), the Merlot (fight against AIDS) and the Cabernet Sauvignon (fight against autism).

In addition, Hope Wine has a Sauvignon Blanc (save our planet) and a Zinfandel (support U.S. troops and their families).

The Hope Chardonnay is a pale straw color with an apple aroma and a smooth finish. It paired well with a simple roast chicken and buttery spaghetti squash with toasted walnuts.

The Hope Merlot is a rich garnet color, with flavors of black cherries, plums, and figs, with a soft, smooth finish.

The Hope Cabernet Sauvignon is a dark crimson color, with ripe berry and plum aromas, accented by toasty oak and vanilla. On the palate, dark fruit flavors are balanced by silky tannins and a lingering finish.

Both the Merlot and Cabernet would pair well with grilled or roasted meats and heartier meals.

Hope Wines are the perfect choice for hostess gifts and holiday dinner parties this season.
